Too Faced Cat Eyes Palette

I have mentioned this palette in a couple of my previous posts and kept promising to do a review with swatches, and have been procrastinating dreadfully.

So here it finally is!

This palette includes six shadows and three wet or dry eyeliner powders.

The packaging it what I think makes this palette unique, it’s an adorable leopard print tin. The size is another plus, it’s about four inches long, so it would be perfect for travel.

The lightest or base shadows are in bigger tins that are about twice the size of the other color shadows.

Purr/Tiger’s Eye/ Leopard

Day Look

Purr A beautiful pearly cream shade with a hint of sparkle.

Tiger’s Eye A lovely semi-metallic bronze shadow

Leopard A dark brown shade with gold glitter

The shadows that are considered the day look are the ones that I use most often, it makes a beautiful natural bronze eye look.

Meow/Pussy Cat/ Jungle Love

Meow A soft off white matte shadow.

Pussy Cat A glowy pinky purple shadow

Jungle Love Black with dark purple and silver glitter

Classic makes for a light purple slightly pink look. I haven’t used this one as much, but Pussy Cat is stunning.

Kitten/Kitty Glitter/Panther

Kitten A glowy creamy pink matte shadow

Kitty Glitter A silver-blue semi-metallic shadow

Panther Matte Black

When I bought this palette I thought that Kitty Glitter would be the only shade I wouldn’t use, but as it turns out it’s one of my favorites. I love to use it just on the lid, the cool silver blue really makes other colors pop as well as brighten the eyes.

Left-Right Panther/Jungle Love/ Leopard

With the right brush, all three of the liners can look great. but it’s tricky to get just the right amount of water on the brush to get it to look right.

I have been using Leopard in the crease with a thin brush to completely trace to shape of my lid, and once it’s well blended it makes my eyes look bigger and more awake.

The pigmentation on all of the shadows it really nice, it gives a very subtle and delicate color pay off. I also love how all of the looks are interchangeable, you can use any one shadow with any other and it will look just as amazing.

Overall I think this is a great little palette, and would highly recommend keeping an eye out for it at your local TJ/TK Maxx, if only because it’s so cute. I found this for $14.99.

Have you tried this palette? or would you in the future?

Glass Files Fit For a Princess

DSC_0045Have you ever had your breath taken way by a nail file? Well, I haven’t either, that is until one day last week a little package arrived from Mont Bleu.

The first thing I noticed about these products it how well they were packaged, the box didn’t rattle and they were individually bubble wrapped as well as being in their on little compartments

I will leave some links at the end of this post for where you can get your hands on these, as well as a discount code.DSC_0006DSC_0043DSC_0017

Three Piece Glass Nail File Set with Crystallized Swarovski Elements

Oh my goodness are these gorgeous!

This set includes three files, a small, medium and a large, each in their own protective case. These are a smooth dark purple glass with blue, pink and clear Swarovski crystals arranged on one end. The purple gradually goes to pink ending in a colorless glass file. The largest file has a rounded end, and both the smaller ones come to point at the end.

Glass Cuticle Stick

I don’t usually use a cuticle stick, I have always use a trimmer, so I don’t know how much use I will get out of this.

This is also purple, but a slightly different shade. It has a clear smooth glass middle and both ends are made of a purple filing glass. One end is rounded and flat on one side to push the cuticles back, and the other it’s shaped a bit like a pen, coming to a very sharp point.

Glass Foot File

Foot files (or foot scrapers) have always been something I’ve loved using, they are a staple in my foot care routine.

This one is of exceptional quality, it has a nice weight to it.  The handle end is an orangy red and gold snakeskin patterned metallic painted glass. One side is a smooth snakeskin indicating that that side a finer grit and the other its smaller textured snakeskin indicating and rougher grit.

I feel like this is going to be great for a touch-up tool, for when your feet are already in fairly good shape.

Final Thoughts

These are all great quality as well as eye-catching, I feel like a princess every time I use one of nail files, which is the best thing about them in my opinion.

They look and feel completely luxe, and I would highly recommend them to anyone whether as a gift or just as a self-indulgence.

You can find more from Mont Bleu below, and use the code BLOG at checkout to get 20% off your order.

Base Beauty Silicone Diamond Blender: Thoughts & Review

One of the many new beauty fads is this strange thing called a silicone beauty blender.

From the minute I saw this little sparkly teardrop-shaped beauty blender I know I had to have it in my life. I mean if I had a normal boring beauty blender while I had the chance to have a sparkly silicone one that would you think of me? I mean this is A Sparkle Of Grace after all!

Base Beauty Diamon Beauty Blender

This blender is made of medical-grade hypoallergenic silicone which makes it way more hygienic and does not store dirt, oils or other breakout causing bacteria. Since it isn’t porous it takes a lot less makeup to achieve a flawless finish.

How’s the quality?

The quality is really nice, it feels durable and well made. It has a weird jelly like the feel and so far is holding up well. The only thing I have to notice it that the Base Beauty logo is starting to wear away after just a week of use.

How does it work?

You apply a small amount foundation( of whatever product you’re using) and spread it on your face in circular motions. Then you use a dabbing motion to get that flawless finish. Since this has such a flexible design is really easy to get around the nose and under the eyes.

Does it really save product?

I would say I have been using forty percent less foundation than I would use with my Real Techniques sponge. While this does save product it does not save time, it takes me about twice as long to get a smooth non-smeary finish with than with my usual sponge.

Another plus it that being silicone makes that super easy to clean, just a drop of soap and some warm water and it’s as good as new.

Final Thoughts

I think the idea behind this product is quite an ingenious one.

I Can definitely see it saving me money over time especially with higher end foundation and that sort of thing.

Overall I think this would be a fun whimsical and useful addition to any makeup fanatics collection. As it does take longer to get the finish I like I don’t think I will be using it on a daily basis, but I will definitely be using it with my more expensive foundations.

Anjou Dead Sea Mud Mask: Review

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Today I want to talk about face masks, theAnjou Dead Sea Mud Mask to be exact.

I received this a couple of weeks ago and have been using it regularly, and it really is one of the nicest masks I’ve used in awhile.

Let’s start with the packaging.this is in a large gray plastic pot that has a bit of a muted silvery glow to it.  Of my favorite parts of the packaging of this is the lid, it completely mirrored, so in theory, you could apply this looking just in the lid(not that you’d need to but you could).

This has a lot more product than I expected, I just imagined that it would be in a pot sized similarly to the L’Oreal Pure Clay Masks but it’s a good deal bigger, and it is filled right to the top weighing in at 17oz ( 500 ml).

Now to the mask itself is, of course, is the must important thing. And this one surpassed my expectations.

My skin has been acting really weird lately and I have been having reactions to pretty much all the masks I have tried out recently, so when started testing this one out I was feeling little apprehensive that this one would do the same. Thankfully, however, I have had no problem with irritation, I think this has to do with the soothing nature of this mask.

This mask contains dead sea mud(Maris Silt), aloe barbadensis gel, and vitamin E. It’s also cruelty-free, paraben free, and fragrance-free.

The texture is unique to any other clay mask I’ve used up to this point. it feels beautifully smooth going on the skin (it actually feels like butter), but is also lightly exfoliating when removing it.

This claims to improve skin complexion, unclogs pores, removes dirt and dead tissues, as well as cleanse your skin of toxins.
It’s also supposed to help tone and detoxify your skin to give you a younger appearance.
Being all of nineteen I don’t really need a lot of anti-aging properties in my skincare but it’s always an added bonus.
After using this mask my skin does feel like it had a deeper more thorough clean, as well as feeling softer and more firm.

I have had some form of acne of my upper arms for quite a few years and have never really taken any time to address it, but at my mom’s suggestion, I tried using this on them and after just once I notice that the skin seemed smoother and less irritated.

My final thoughts on this mask are that it feels great,  and is wonderful for those days when my skin feels tired and grimy. As far as how it works over time I’m not yet sure, but I have nothing but high hopes.

What are your thoughts on this mask?

Do you prefer wash-off or peel-off masks?

Chocolate Easter Nests

Can you believe Easter is almost here? Time flies when you’re having fun I guess.

This time I thought it would be nice to get a themed treat post up a little before the holiday in question, that way if anyone wanted to try it they might actually have time.

I have just recently become aware of Easter Nests, and instantly knew I wanted to make them. They are quite simple and absolutely adorable.

WARNING: If you don’t have a massive sweet tooth these aren’t for you.

You Will Need

11/2 Cups Milk Chocolate Chips

11/2 Cups White Chocolate Chips

2 Tablespoons Butter

4 Packages Shredded Wheat Biscuits

Mini Eggs Of Your Choice( I used Whoppers)

12 Eastery Cupcake Cups

What To Do

Line a muffin tin with the cupcake liners.

In a double-boiler( Bain Marie) melt your milk chocolate, stirring occasionally until smooth, add a tablespoon of butter and stir in till melted.

Stir in about half of the shredded wheat and gently fold together until the wheat is completely coated in chocolate.

Gently press the chocolate wheat mixture into the cupcake cups, filling them up about half way.

Melt the white chocolate in the same way you melted the other, but please use a clean bowl.

And the remaining butter and shredded wheat to the white chocolate and fold in until completely coated.

Carefully put the white chocolate mixture on top of the milk chocolate mixture. You want to make sure that the top layer is neat and shaped like a birds nest.

Using your thumb, gently make a slight indentation in the center of each nest so the eggs have a place to sit.

Place three eggs in the center of each nest.

Let set for two or more hours before serving.

And there you go, twelve adorable Easter themed treats!

These were so much fun to make, I think I need to get into doing more themed baking, it really gets my creative juices flowing.

Do you do anything spacial for Easter?
